Alicia lives in Peterborough and is a New Hampshire native. She started watercolor painting in June 2014 after a weekend retreat where she attended a watercolor painting workshop. The workshop was a reminder of her love of the watercolor medium and a jumping off point for her own journey as an artist.
Her love of the natural world and her life in New Hampshire inspire and influence her paintings:
“There is magic in the natural world, I don’t think it is always visible with the naked eye so I like to bring it out in my paintings to show the beauty and mystery that is all around us. I also like to laugh and have fun so you will see that some of my paintings have a whimsical and silly element to them. I add these elements because they make me smile and I hope they bring a smile to others as well.
The creative process is a wonderful healing tool. It helps us connect to ourselves on a deeper level by being in the present moment and practicing self-expression. It is my hope that my love for painting will inspire you to your own creative expressions and as a result bring healing into your lives.”- Alicia Cubbage
